Tropical Shoot

This is one of my favorite shoots ever!  When you put together a kick ass team like this, you can't go wrong!  You know what I always say, if you can't go to the tropics, bring the tropics to you!  I've been dying to do a modern take on a retro tropical vibe for a really long time.  It's one of those things that could easily go horribly wrong, which is always my favorite kind of project! Hahaha!!  I teamed up with two of my favorite people in the industry, Jove of Jove Meyer Events, and Thea of Hushed Commotion.  We all share a can do attitude, which made this shoot such a breeze!  We each pulled our weight, and contributed to so many different aspects of this shoot as a team, that I couldn't have asked for a better outcome!  I love when everyone commits fully, as it makes such a difference.  I've had this idea for a while, and have just been waiting for the right time and crew to make it happen, and I'm so freaking proud of what we pulled off.  I love doing projects that are a little out of the box, but still have an elegance and traditional appeal to them.  All of the people we worked with were incredible, and so many of these elements were created custom by the vendors for this shoot, and I can't thank them enough!  The orange ombré dress is just so stunning, and I can't get over how beautiful it looks on our gorgeous model!  SYNDerela, were such a joy to work with, and I would highly recommend them to anyone who was looking for a completely custom wedding dress or bridesmaids dresses as well, and they are lovely ladies to work with to boot!

The stationary by Katie Fishcer Designs always completes any beautiful wedding, and she killed it with this Beverly Hills banana leaf inspiration on the invitation suite.  I love that pattern so much, and couldn't wait to see what she came up with, and it's such a perfect mix of modern and retro/tropical, that it makes me smile from ear to ear.  Of course another element that really made this shoot what is, were the flowers from Blade Floral and Event Design.  Anne really knocked this one out of the park, and the ceremony backdrop just blew me away!  All the greenery was jus so lovely, and not your expected tropical florals, which is what we really wanted!

Of course, the venue is a stunner itself, and we were so thrilled to be able to the shoot here, as this was the first shoot they had there and will be opening this fall for weddings at 26 Bridge in Dumbo, Brooklyn!  Big thanks so Chris who hosted our shoot!
