Rangefinder's 30 Rising Stars!

I know I have not blogged in a while, and it's not to say that I have given up, it's just that this year has been a whirlwind of weddings, travels, and multiple projects, that I just haven't been able to keep up.  That being said, I am back, and I want to share some exciting news with you.  This year I was nominated by Rangefinder as one of the top 30 rising wedding photographers in the world.  It's a pretty crazy thing to say out loud, and it doesn't feel real, but there is no other way to put it.  Essentially, this is not something one can even apply for.  Someone out there in the whole wide world, has to nominate you as someone who can even be thrown into a big pull of potential candidates.  From there, you submit 30 of your best images to a jury, that then chooses who will be nominated for the award.  When I really think about it, it's more than I can wrap my brain around. To say that this year has been truly exceptional, just doesn't even seem like enough.  I might even go so far as to say, that this has been my best year yet, and not just in photography, overall.  I can't believe I get to live the life I have and that I am invited to parties every weekend to document special moments in people's lives.  It's truly amazing, magical, and a gift.  Being awarded this honor is pretty crazy.  I feel like it's taken me a long long long time to figure out a path for myself, so coming to this point feels like a nice demarcation in time.  I've been shooting for a long time, but it's only in the last few years that I have really honed in on my vision and skill level that has brought me to this place.  Moving to New York, has also been a huge part of my evolution.  I have to say, that I am super lucky to have the amazing clients that I have, I am super grateful to each and every one of them for trusting in me inviting me to be a part to their celebration.  I genuinely adore each and every one of my clients, and they are the reason I get to keep doing what I love.  Cheers to everyone who was nominated, you are all amazing!!!
